Hamburger & Dumpling Casserole


2 lbs. ground beef

1 large onion

1/3 c flour

1 c water

1 can (16 oz) cut green beans drained

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 3/4 c water



cook ground beef & onion until meat loses color and onion is clear

add flour and the 1 cup water. simmer for 5 minutes

pour into a 9 X 13 cake pan

add green beans sprinkling evenly over meat mixture

bring cream of chicken soup and the 1 3/4 c water to a boil, pour over meat/bean mixture

mix dumplings together and drop by tablespoons on top of soup mixture

sprinkle with 1 c buttered bread crumbs, made by tossing 2 T melted butter with 1 c fine bread crumbs

bake at 425 for about 30 minutesor until dumplings are cooked through & meat mixture is bubbly
